Corpsing a $30.00 Skeleton
Tommy Our Cheap Corpse
lick here to Ok Belonging to several Halloween Forums, I decided to try out the corpseing technics listed on a few of them.
Materials Needed: 1 Cheap Plastic Skeleton (Found at Local Rite-Aide for $29.99 1 Roll of Paper Towels ($1.00) 1 1 qt can of Floor Adhesive 10 1" Paint Brushes ($.10 each) 12 or so pairs of Rubber Gloves 2 1/4-20 x 4" screws 2 1/4-20 x 5" screws 4 1/4" Fender washers 4 1/4" flat washers 4 1/4" lock washers 4 1/4"-20 nuts 1 Spray can of Minwax Red Wood Stain First things first these Cheap Plastic Skeletons are held together with wire and screws, I cut off the wire that held on the legs and arms the I carefully drilled out the leg bones, hip joints, arm bones and shoulder joints with a 1/4" drill (Sorry no picture...didn’t have the camera handy.) I painted the skeleton with the Floor Adhesive, and carefully placed the paper towels into position over the Skeleton, I painted over the paper towels with more Floor Adhesive, making sure the bones showed through the paper towels and Floor Adhesive I installed these ping pong ball Eyes I found at a local dollar store, with super glue and carefully placed paper towel and Floor Adhesive around them. Before I finished closing off the rib cage I installed a rubber heart that was left over from an old Halloween costume, and a blinking Christmas tree bulb wired to a 5v 500 Ma transformer. The wires carefully hidden under his skin. I painted the whole thing with the Minwax Red Wood Stain, ad dabbed away the excess with a paper towel I sprinkled talcum powder over the whole corpse and blew the residue off, this does 3 things. 1) It makes the floor adhesive not stickey, 2) IIt takes the shine off the stain 3) it gives the corpse an aged look. We named him Tommy, we put up a little sign that says "My name is Tommy Smith, I came here last year for Halloween, and the Monsters got me, IF you make it out of here, please tell my Mom to come get me" edit. |
